Le colunellas del 2022

 Come promesso ecco le Colunellas spagnole completate con i pezzi dell'Atlantic Wargame che vi avevo presentato nello scorso post. 

Alla fine ho deciso di comporle ciascuna con 2 basi di picchieri, 2 di archibugieri, 1 di comando ed 1 di Sword & Buckler, cercando di rispettare le proporzioni originali. Poi, il fatto di averle imbasettate in questa maniera, consente di fare qualunque permutazione si voglia, in funzione del regolamento di gioco scelto.

Quasi tutti i comandi  e tutti i sword & buckler sono in metallo di varie case produttrici, come TAG, Foundry e altre ma la compatibilità sembra abbastanza buona.

As promised here are the Spanish Colunellas completed with the pieces of the Atlantic Wargame that I presented to you in the last post.  

In the end, I decided to compose each of them with 2 pikemen bases, 2 arquebusiers, 1 command and 1 Sword & Buckler, trying to respect the original proportions. Then, the fact of having based them in this way, allows you to make any permutation you want, depending on the game rules chosen.  

Almost all the controls and all the sword & bucklers are made of metal from various manufacturers, such as TAG, Foundry and others but the compatibility seems to be pretty good.

I compiti per l'estate - Homework for the holidays

Questa estate ha fatto veramente troppo caldo... a un certo punto non riuscivo neanche a tenere in mano il pennello per quanto sudavano le mani. Tuttavia, prima che l'afa ci avvolgesse sono riuscito a dipingere qualcosa: oltre al range della Guerra Civile Inglese che ormai sta prendendo forma, ho dipinto questi meravigliosi pezzi della Wargame Foundry e della Perrin.

Inoltre ho montato questo bel modello del "carroarmato" di Leonardo da Vinci che è quasi perfettamente in scala con le miniature in 28 mm. Pronto per essere usato con le nuove regole di Furioso...

This summer it was really too hot ... at a certain point I could not even hold the brush in my hand for how much my hands were sweating. However, before the sultriness enveloped me I managed to paint something: in addition to the range of the English Civil War that is now taking shape, I painted these wonderful pieces of the Wargame Foundry and Perrin.

I have also mounted this beautiful model of the Leonardo da Vinci's "tank" that is almost perfectly scaled with the 28 mm miniatures. Ready to be used with the new rules of Furioso ...

 

Las colunellas

Dunque, ecco qua le prime due unità spagnole del periodo. Si tratta in realtà di spagnoli del regno di Napoli, che indossano elmi assai particolari.

La formazione è quella nota come Colunella, che comprendeva picchieri, archibugieri e fanti armati di spada e scudo, in proporzione 2:1:2 (o, in qualche caso solo da picchieri). Trovate indicazioni dettagliate a questo link, in spagnolo.

Ho realizzato due tipi di Colunella, uno più grande con 4 basi di picchieri e 2 ciascuna di archibugieri e spadaccini, ed una più piccola con 2 basi per ciascun tipo.

Questo tipo di imbasettamento consente comunque di raggruppare le basi per tipo per formare unità uniformi (a seconda del regolamento).

I pezzi sono della Assault group, con qualche "spadaccino" della Wargame Foundry.

Sword & Bucklers

So, here are the first two Spanish units for the period . These are actually from the Spanish kingdom of Naples and the men wear very particular helmets . The formation is known as Colunella , which included pikemen , musketeers and infantry armed with sword and shield, in proportion 2 : 1 : 2 (or , in some cases only by pikemen ) . You can find further information at this link , in Spanish. I made two types of Colunella, one larger with 4 bases of pikemen and 2 each of musketeers and swordsmen, and a smaller one with 2 bases for each type . This basing still allows you to group the bases by type to form uniform units (for the different rule sets) . The miniatures are from the Assault group, with some " swordsman " from Wargame Foundry .
